Contributions as MLA Malkajgiri:

Marri Rajasekhar Reddy’s Development Journey in Malkajgiri Constituency: Two Years of Achievements

Shri Marri Rajasekhar Reddy, MLA of Malkajgiri Assembly constituency, has been working tirelessly for the past two years to lead comprehensive development in the constituency. As a result of his efforts, numerous infrastructure and service projects are taking shape within the constituency. These are not merely in the planning stages, but are progressing as critical projects with clear financial sanctions and implementation.
Malkajgiri constituency in Hyderabad, located in Medchal-Malkajgiri district, faces issues primarily related to infrastructure, transportation, water supply, education, and health. Rajasekhar Reddy has focused on these issues and has secured sanctions of over Rs. 1700 crores through various departments to undertake development works.

Infrastructure Revitalization: Roads, Bridges, and Railway Crossings
He has given special priority to the development of road infrastructure and railway crossings in the constituency. As evidence of this:
* R.K. Puram Flyover: This project, proposed with a massive budget of Rs. 210 crores, has the potential to transform traffic problems in the Malkajgiri area. • R.K. Puram RUB (Road Under Bridge): A project worth 35 crore rupees.
* Railway Crossings (RUBs) and Bridges: Funds exceeding 250 crore rupees have been sanctioned for the construction of railway crossings in areas such as Vajpayee Nagar/Neredmet (74.47 crores), Vinayak Nagar (48 crores), Kakatiya Nagar (32 crores), BHEL-Alwal (28 crores), and Gautam Nagar (38 crores). These will significantly improve public transportation convenience and reduce accidents.

Comprehensive Urban Development Projects
* AOC Road Development and Land Transfer: Stands as a crucial project worth 910 crore rupees. It has the potential to completely transform regional transportation infrastructure.
* Water Supply and Drainage (HMWSSB): Funds have been sanctioned for a 5 MLD reservoir in Gautam Nagar (14.95 crores) and water connections and UGD works in all divisions (45 crores). This indicates an improvement in sanitation and access to drinking water.
* Power Infrastructure (TGSPDCL): Projects such as substations, transformers, three-phase conversion (42 crores), and an indoor substation near the R.K. Nagar bridge (2.01 crores) will ensure a reliable power supply. Progress in Social Infrastructure
Focus has also been placed on social infrastructure to improve the living standards of the people.
* Construction of District Court Buildings: Improvement of judicial infrastructure with Rs. 46.50 crores.
* Health Facilities: A sub-health center in Safilguda on 500 square yards (Rs. 1.43 crores) and development of government hospital infrastructure in Malkajgiri (Rs. 2.59 crores).
* Educational Infrastructure: Development of government degree college infrastructure (Rs. 2.50 crores).
* Fire Services: Establishment of a new fire station in Alwal with the allocation of 11 guntas of land.

Institutional Efforts for Comprehensive Development
These projects do not happen spontaneously. Shri Rajasekhar Reddy has been consistently working to create the necessary administrative and financial avenues for their implementation:

1. Democratic Representation in the Assembly: He has used the Assembly platform as a medium to strongly advocate for public issues and development needs. Every question and discussion serves as an official record of the constituency’s priorities.
2. Consultations with Officials: By meeting with the Chief Minister, concerned ministers, and departmental officials, and submitting representations, he is facilitating financial support and approvals for the projects.
3. Advocacy for Metro Rail Extension: He has advocated for the extension of the Metro Phase II from JBS to Shamirpet through the constituency. This can connect Malkajgiri more strongly with the Hyderabad Metro network, expanding economic and social opportunities.
4. Focus on Local Works: Funds have also been sanctioned for locally important projects such as numerous CC roads and other works (₹142 crores) across all divisions.

Contributions to RUB (Road Under Bridge) Projects in Malkajgiri
As the elected representative of the Malkajgiri Assembly constituency, Marri Rajasekhar Reddy has played a visible role in advocating and facilitating railway infrastructure projects, particularly Road Under Bridges (RUBs) and related works aimed at alleviating chronic traffic congestion at railway crossings within the urban constituency.
In January 2026, Reddy, along with Malkajgiri Lok Sabha MP Etala Rajender, laid the foundation stone for an additional vent for RUB No. 739 near Janapriya Apartments, between Alwal and Bolarum Bazaar railway stations. The project, estimated at approximately ₹6.6 crore (later reported around ₹7.7 crore in some accounts), is designed to ease a major railway bottleneck and improve commuter movement in a heavily trafficked section of the constituency.
In addition to the RUB No. 739 expansion, Reddy has been associated with the foundation and approval of other railway-related infrastructure works, including:
• A Road Under Bridge at Neredmet (near Level Crossing BP No. 8) and a Limited Height Subway (LHS), part of an approximately ₹80-₹87 crore package of rail infrastructure improvements intended to reduce wait times and traffic congestion on key commuter routes.
• Advocacy for the Vajpayee Nagar RUB project, cited as a long-pending demand of local residents to address daily delays caused by train movements.
Reddy has repeatedly highlighted that these projects respond to long-standing public demand for relief from traffic bottlenecks caused by railway crossings, and his public statements have framed the RUB initiatives as essential components of broader efforts to modernize transport connectivity within Malkajgiri.
In December 2024, he also urged that Special Development Funds (SDF) be allocated with attention to constituency needs, explicitly citing RUB and ROB (Road Over Bridge) construction as priorities alongside other infrastructure and civic works.
